BGC Ottawa is proud to introduce our innovative microsite offering online programming.
BGC Ottawa has been helping children and youth across our city for nearly 100 years. It has the greatest reach and impact on at-risk children and youth in the city with more than 100,000 visits per year. However, in this changing climate we recognize the importance of offering a continued on-line presence.
Online approaches will include live sessions, pre-recorded videos that can be shared with family and friends, social media challenges, 5-minute live sessions and much more.
Online offerings will include: STEM projects, arts and crafts, dance, music, yoga, fitness, and more!
The microsite will reflect our four pillars programming model:
- Sports, physical recreation and health awareness
- Arts and cultural appreciation
- Education and career exploration
- Leadership and life skills development
To provide a safe, supportive place where children and youth can experience new opportunities, overcome barriers, build positive relationships and develop confidence and skills for life.
All children and youth discover and achieve their dreams and grow up to be healthy, successful, and active participants in society.
Belonging: we welcome everyone in a safe, accepting environment based on belonging and positive relationships
Respect: we ensure that everyone – children, youth, families, volunteers, staff – is heard, valued, and treated fairly
Encouragement: we encourage and support every child and youth to play, learn, and grow to achieve their dreams
Working Together: we work together with young families, volunteers, our communities, and government
Speaking Out: we speak out for our children, youth, and families, so that we can make our world better
